With a design inspired by the ICON Official Match Ball of the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, adidas reveal the ‘Stellar Icon’ pack, which will be worn by women footballers at the Olympics in Paris this summer.
With the 2024 Olympic Games set to officially get underway this week, adidas has unveiled the ‘Stellar Icon’ pack, which features attractive new colourways for F50 and Predator – including the F50 Women’s Mid Boot. The bold new look – with striking pink, blue and yellow accents – is inspired by the design of the first ever adidas Official Match Ball of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, The ICON.
Starting things off with a closer look at that F50 women’s mid boot, and it's been engineered for speed and designed specifically with women’s anatomy in mind. The women’s mid boot incorporates the WOMEN COMFORT F50 SOCKLINER to provide stability and arch support for extra-fast movement. The official colourway is "Almost Blue/Semi Lucid Blue/Semi Solar Yellow", and that look is the same for all three variations of the boot – the women's mid cut, and the Elite laced and laceless. They all feature the SPRINTFRAME 360 outsole that combines an anatomically designed structure with a heel counter stability. Finally, the lightweight FIBERTOUCH UPPER delivers comfort and supports the foot when moving at speed.
The Predator 24 is then available in laced and laceless versions (afraid there's no fold-over tongue option here). They're presented in a "Almost Blue/Lucid Pink/Semi Solar Yellow" colourway, with the bluey-grey base allowing the pink to really pop, particularly through the Three Stripe branding.
The Predator features advanced STRIKESKIN rubber fins, designed for pinpoint shot accuracy from any distance. The lightweight CONTROLFRAME 2.0 is built for added stability, and the moulded HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 upper offers cushioning in key contact areas for added comfort and a soft touch on the ball. The Laced model combines a floating tongue with a secure laced lockdown for an adaptive fit, while the Laceless edition includes a PRIMEKNIT COLLAR that allows for easy foot entry.
