Providing that clean approach that arrives in contrast to the in-line release and the blackout ‘Eclipse’ pack, PUMA drop their 2024 Whiteout pack, lining up the all-new Ultra 5 alongside the Future 7 and King in crisp coats.
Standard procedure these days is for brands to release their key in-line pack (the main colourway that you’ll see the pros wearing on pitch) and then offering alternative low-key options in the form of blackout and whiteout packs. It’s an easy ways to ensure all tastes are catered for, with the latter two options allowing lower league and non-professional players to benefit from the tech that the pros wear while not standing out with some of the brighter and bolder looks that are rolled out these days. And here we get the PUMA Whiteout pack, which is the clean look that sets up in contrast to the stealthy ‘Eclipse Pack’.
This is the first time that the all-new Ultra 5 has featured in a whiteout look, but those hoping to get the new carbon soleplate edition will sadly be disappointed, as it’s only the regular Ultra 5 that’s on offer. It still boasts the FastTrax stud design for multidirectional traction and an all-new PWRTAPE SQD support frame to stabilise the foot inside of the boot without hindering agility and freedom of movement. And it’s all wrapped up in a pristine white-on-white look, with the subtlest pops of silver/grey highlighting the branding.
Joining the Ultra 5 is the Future 7, which again uses silver accents on the branding. The Future 7 features state-of-the-art tech, including FUZIONFIT360, PWRTAPE, PWRPRINT, and Dynamic Motion System. The re-engineered FUZIONFIT360 upper combines PWRPRINT, PWRTAPE, extra stretchy knit, and soft dual mesh for a next-generation adaptive fit, while the Dynamic Motion System provides traction and agility.
Finally, the latest iteration of the King those new embossed grooves in the forefoot area to improve feel and control on the ball really stand out in both the white and blackout looks. Those grooves are joined by joined by a new softer mesh material through the heel and in the tongue area to improve the already outstanding levels of comfort on offer. But it’s still that K-Better upper material that’s the star of the show here, make no mistake.
