Kylian Mbappé scored his first La Liga goals last weekend, which coincided with the retail launch of his latest signature edition Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X from Nike, and here we take a closer look at the boots.
We all knew that, upon his arrival at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé would carry on doing what Kylian Mbappé does best: score goals. And sure enough, as day follows night, the Frenchman bagged his first brace last Sunday in the 2-0 win over Real Betis at Santiago Bernabéu. And he did so in his latest signature edition Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X from Nike, perfectly coinciding with the boots retail launch. Almost like he planned it…
Mbappé has actually been wearing his latest signature look since he first put on a Real Madrid jersey at his Santiago Bernabéu Stadium presentation back in mid-July, but they have only been officially launched by Nike this week. Design-wise, the boots feature a “Light Laser Orange/Armory Navy” colourway along with a disruptive digital print that is applied around the Air logo and on the heel to create a pulsing digital mirage.
Essentially, the look presents as a vivid orange base colour, with the pixelated reddish hues working through the "AIR" graphic, leaving the Swoosh to ride in typically contrasting style across the forefoot. Mbappé's signature "KM" branding then sits on the heel and on the insole to finish the look.
As with the his previous signature edition drops, the boot itself is accompanied by a full collection. While the Real Madrid man continues to opt for the Mercurial Superfly X, the exact same aesthetic design is also carried across and applied to the Vapor XVI, ensuring there are options no matter the preference.
