Mizuno Reveal New Alpha II Made in Japan

Mizuno unveil the all-new Alpha II Made in Japan dressed in a vibrant iridescent colourway. This drop comes as the brand-new second generation of the Alpha, following on from the teaser edition that was revealed last month.

Mizuno are off to a flying start to the year, attempting to make moves that will grow their reputation as, in previous years, they have occupied more of a niche space in the football boot market. Portuguese national player João Félix has recently become the face of the brand after being spotted donning the Alpha II Japan’s Tease Edition the last couple weeks. This signing is a big step for Mizuno to cement their name into ‘big boot brand’ conversation.

The all-new Alpha II Made in Japan arrives as the second generation of their lightweight speed boot, with fresh technology to maximise comfort and acceleration. Known for their classic leather boots, Mizuno are now appealing to other players who looking for a lightweight boot to rival the likes of Mercurial, F50 and Ultra.

Onto the details, the latest Alpha II Japan’s takes on glimpses from the teaser edition, with a similar iridescent/chrome aesthetic. The silo is fashioned in an official colourway of “White/Silver Iridiscent/Black” – taking inspiration from a ‘lightspeed effect’ with the focus of the boot being speed. Playful colours such as blue, green and blue take over the Mizuno lettering and logo located on the heel, aswell as throughout accents on the upper. The iridescent colour scheme is printed onto a pure white base, finished with a fluorescent green stud pattern and sole plate. Meanwhile the esteemed Mizuno logo features on both the medial side and toe of the boot in silver. It’s clear to see that Mizuno have completely dived into the typical culture of a speed boot for those vibrant players.

This silo only weighs 190g as to minimise players feeling a weight on their feet and thus maximise speed and acceleration. As like all boots in the ‘Made in Japan’ series, this Alpha II is crafted in the brands main factory in Japan. This is where they make all the boots for their pro players using the finest and most premium materials and techniques to maximise quality and durability.

We look forward to seeing where Mizuno take this Alpha Japan series.
