Vini Jr Receives His First Official Signature Nike Mercurial Vapor

Nike further deepen their relationship with Vinicius Jr as the Real Madrid star continues to shine, providing him with his first official signature boot. Inspired by his Brazilian heritage, Nike bring Joga Bonito to life with a boot that embodies flair and creativity.

After receiving a special edition boot back in Decemeber for his FIFA World Player Of the Year win, Vinicius Jr finally receives his first official signature boot from Nike as they look to shine a spotlight on the next gen of ballers. The Brazilian has danced his way to the top of his game and is rewarded by the Swoosh with a bespoke Mercurial Vapor XVI which embodies his playful style.

Just like Vini, this boot is all about flair and creativity. Using bold colours, Nike reflect the Real Madrid forward’s expressive style and Brazilian roots as he continues to revive joga bonito into modern-day football. You just can’t beat that Samba football.

The Nike Gripknit upper is dressed in black, providing a sleek and stealthy base, whilst a burst of bold colours wraps around the heel and swoosh. The swoosh features a striking gradient design, blending from yellow to red on the lateral side whilst the medial focuses on yellow and green. The heel follows the same colour palette, with an explosion of gradient patterns symbolising joy and creativity.

At a closer look of the signature, the heel gradient design is elevated by repeated print reading “Vini Voa, Vini Fly”, both translating to Vini Fly – all about Vinicius’ ambition for the future and the success he has already achieved through passion and freedom. The Brazilian’s custom VJR logo can be spotted in a striking red sitting on the knitted tongue of the boot, whilst 'Vini Voa Vini Fly' again features as a sign off on the heel and printed on the insole.

The soleplate cannot miss a mention. The Zoom Air unit is dressed in a stunning multicolour chrome design, providing a stunning aesthetic whilst maintaining performance focus. Expect to see speed, flair and style from anyone wearing this boot, especially from the main man himself.

Watching my favourite players growing up, they all wore Nike boots,” says Vini Jr. “For many years I’ve played with Mercurial exclusively — and even scored a goal in two Champions League finals. For my first Nike Player Edition boot, there was no need to move away from what already made me fly.

Vinicius is set to wear his signatures during the end of the normal season, whilst also lacing them up as Real Madrid fly over to the US for the FIFA Club World Cup next month. Will Vini light up the pitch with these Mercurials?
