Nike has resurrected a legend. The Tiempo Legend. A boot that once saw Ronaldinho’ s magic back in 2005 is back, as the Swoosh look to revive the ‘Touch of Gold’ that the Brazilian once brought to the beautiful game.
Football has always had its icons, but few stand out like this one. Ronaldinho wasn’t just a player, he was a mood. Nike are bringing back that mood, reviving his legendary Tiempo Legend colourway that the Brazilian once wore back in ’05. The Swoosh are letting joga bonito live through the Tiempo once again.
The original ‘Touch of Gold’ Tiempo was a moment in football culture. A white leather canvas kissed with golden brushstrokes. Worn by a player dripping with samba swagger. The boot was a symbol of what football could and should be. Real ones remember the release alongside that iconic video that broke the internet of Ronaldinho hitting the crossbar four times in a row. Ridiculous.
This remake celebrates that time. It revives the same aua but updates it with some modern tech because innovation never lacks at Nike. The same pristine white canvas, the same golden fade wrapping around the boot, and the same 10R stamp sitting on the fold over tongue. Yes, the tongue is back.
However, two decades has seen a big move in innovation. So Nike make sure performance stays dialled up, with an updated sole plate and, unfortunately, no leather upper to allow a lighter feel.
