adidas Unveil The Women's 2022 Champions League Knockout Ball

Inspired by the mighty peaks of the Piedmont region, adidas launch the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout stage match ball. It's the first time that an official match ball has been created specifically for the Women’s Champions League knockout stages.

With the women’s Champions League competition gets set to enter the business end of proceedings in March, adidas have unveiled the official match ball that will be used – representing the first time that an Official Match Ball has been created specifically for the tournament. There’s set to be some tasty encounters in the Quarter Final stage, not least a certain Clasico, and we now know what the ball that will be rippling in the net (hopefully with regularity) will look like.

The remaining eight teams all have their sights set on the final at the Allianz Stadium on 22 May – particularly home side Juventus, who face a daunting clash with seven-time winners, Lyon – and the ball draw influence from the region. The design commemorates the alps which Turin sits at the foot of, with a mirrored star shape featuring in the imagery which reflects the beautiful Piedmont mountains. For adidas, the ball represents that one symbol of possibility – the vehicle that can inspire the next generation of footballing talent and grassroots communities around the world.

In an effort to shine a light on the grassroots beginnings of the biggest club tournament and inspire confidence in the UWCL’s future stars, adidas has invited its adidas Football Collective (aFC) community members from the Turin region to the final stage of the UWCL 2021/22 season, giving them the opportunity to soak in the atmosphere of champions.
