Heralding the upcoming campaign, adidas and Major League Soccer have jointly unveiled the new official match ball for the 2023 season, with a loud design that is inspired by the power of music.
The dust has long since settled on LAFC’s MLS Cup win, and now focus is fully on the coming campaign, and with that in mind, Major League Soccer and Adidas have revealed the new look match ball. Inspired by the power of music, the design takes cues from the sonic identities of all 29 clubs to unite fans and players alike.
Following on from the 2022 match ball, MLS are cranking up the volume with the new design. Tech-wise, the ball is the same as the Al Rihla ball used at the 2022 World Cup, but it has been spruced up with this new visual design that’s described as “giving off grungy vibes with music poster-inspired graphics”.
A white base plays host to a combination of red and blue hues that play out across the surface, with text graphics appearing in black on the coloured areas, and silver on the white. The Ball will be on full display when the regular MLS season kicks off on 25 February as Nashville SC host New York City FC at GEODIS Park.
The MLS 2023 official match ball will be available from prodirectsport.com/soccer in the near future.
