As Nike’s reign over the Premier League ball comes to an end, we see the last PL ball with that esteemed Swoosh before PUMA take over for next season. Signing off in style, the brand has remade one of the most iconic Prem balls of all time – the T90 Aerow I. Proper football heritage.
PUMA are set to take charge of the Premier League ball from the 25/26 season, after Nike has been the renowned ball provider since 2000. To celebrate a successful 25 years, Nike recently revealed remakes of three iconic PL balls including the Geo Merlin, Ordem 3 and Seitiro. Now the final Nike PL ball has officially been released for Spring 24/25, marking the end of an era with another throwback of one of the most popular balls of all time.
The last Nike PL ball is an updated remake of the T90 Aerow I – used during the 04/05 and 05/06 seasons. Chelsea fans will be buzzing to see this back, after this ball saw Chelsea win their first ever Premier League title, followed by their second in consecutive seasons. The likes of Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas and Wayne Rooney all scored some beauties with this ball.
The T90 Aerow was the first PL ball to be given a Hi-Vis edition for easier vision during the winter months, which Nike have also brought back alongside the traditional white and blue colourway. The traditional colourway sees a classic all-white base, paired with some small added visuals to the classic T90 blue rings around the surface.
The Spring 24/25 ball is available in ‘Flight’, ‘Club Elite’ and ‘Academy’ editions – all with different price ranges – whilst the Hi-Vis will only be available in ‘Academy’. The PL NK Flight edition is crafted with the most up-to-date Nike ball features including Aerowsculpt technology, which sees grooves debased into the casing to allow air to travel seamlessly around the ball – delivering truer flight.
