With the countdown to Africa’s biggest footballing spectacle well underway, PUMA has lifted the lid on the official match ball for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025. Named ITRI, the ball is a fusion of heritage and innovation, drawing deep from Moroccan artistry while delivering elite-level performance for the continent’s most prestigious tournament.
The name itself is steeped in meaning. ITRI pays homage to the star emblazoned on Morocco’s flag and echoes the celestial patterns that define traditional zellij craftsmanship. This centuries-old art form, celebrated for its intricate geometric mosaics, becomes the creative heartbeat of the design, symbolising unity and passion across Africa’s footballing landscape.
Visually, ITRI is a statement piece. Its surface is alive with Moroccan zellij-inspired geometry: central star formations radiate ambition and light, petal outlines evoke celebration and growth, while circular symmetry speaks to the unity of 24 nations converging on one stage. Flowing through it all are ‘Flow of Movement’ patterns, capturing the rhythm and dynamism that make African football so distinctive. The palette of red and green amplifies the narrative, channelling pride, hope, and Morocco’s national identity.
