In next seasons Champions League adidas will be boasting two of the best goalkeepers in world football - Petr Cech and Manuel Neuer - and whilst it's yet to be confirmed whether Neuer will be sporting these new Fingersave's, we do know that Cech will certainly be getting noticed on pitch!
The new adidas Fingersave Allround goalkeeper gloves have been designed to incorporate the same colour-scheme as the new adidas Finale 11 ball, and you can check out our full review of that one here. The Fingersave's have been a mainstay of the adidas goalkeeper glove range for some time now, and have been a popular choice with the likes of Edwin Van Der Sar, so it'll be interesting to see if they can win over any additional fans with this bold colourway!
As the name would suggest, the new adidas Fingersave gloves incorporate technology to protect the fingers and assist in keeping the ball out of the net. Available in different stiffness degrees, removable and separately exchangeable 'Fingersave' spines afford great comfort and protection whether you're catching, holding or throwing the ball.
For holding onto the ball, the new Champions League Fingersave's feature a new adidas 'Allround Extreme' 3.5mm foam, the next generation of 'Allround' latex with enhanced grip properties. Whilst latex wrapping on the lateral side ensures a snug fit and the vital thumb area enjoys increased stability with a tight fit courtesy of the thumb wrap.
As the game has evolved so have goalkeeper gloves, and as many keepers now opt to punch the ball because of it's unpredictable flight path, but also to get the ball into play quickly, adidas have responded with a new punching zone. The patented 'Punching Control' technology means maximum impact is transferred to the ball. The result is more grip, more control, more powerful punches!
The adidas Fingersave Allround gloves are cut for optimum ball to latex coverage, and secured with an elastic stretch strap for a secure and stable individual fit. What adidas are saying is - if your hand can get to the ball, then a glove with an assured fit will get some latex on the ball!
A versatile glove, the new adidas Fingersave Allround goalkeeper gloves could be a popular choice with fans of the unique colour-scheme. Alternatively, if Petr Cech is your goalkeeping icon and you want to look like your idol - but not wear the cap - then these could be the gloves for you!
