adidas Predator Pro Champions League Goalkeeper Gloves

This week to celebrate the quarter-finals of the Champions League taking place, SoccerBible takes a closer look at the latest hi-tech glove coming out of the adidas range - the adidas Predator Pro Champions League glove.

Each season adidas give their gloves a taste of Champions League style. Designed in line with the adidas Finale Wembley match-ball, these gloves certainly catch the eye. They are designed around being a wet weather glove, but like all gloves in the predator range is well suited to all weathers. So what makes these glove suited to wet weather?

The adidas Predator UCL glove has a fitted waterproof membrane inside the glove designed to keep your hands dry in all weather , even heavy rain to which adidas say it is 100% water resistant, but the glove is also fitted with climaproof which as well as providing weather support is also designed to wick moisture and sweat away from the hand.

Grip in the wet - the glove has a positive cut which is designed to provide a comfortable fit as well as a great contact area to the ball. The palm has raised latex which is known as injected gills, these are there to disrupt the waterfilm and improve the traction between the glove and ball in the wettest of conditions.

The coloured palm is designed so that water will run off it as opposed to soak into it which can often happen with white coloured palms especially in the heavy rain where this glove will excel as it is fitted with adidas latest in wet grip latex.

The stretch strap is a close fitting bandage now common in all gloves across the adidas range which is designed to provide wrist support as well as comfort. The elasticated strap makes it easy to adjust the tightness around the wrist to any goalkeepers preference.
