Manuel Neuer is one of the most iconic keepers of his generation, trademarking the sweeper-keeper role and playing a pivotal role as Germany enjoyed a return to the top of the game, winning the World Cup in 2014. In honour of the Bayern no.1, adidas have launched a special version of the Predator Pro goalkeeper glove.

For those that thought the Predator brand was restricted to boots only, think again. The Predator Pro GK glove carries the same aggressive aesthetic as the boot, offering cutting edge technology and a strapless entry that's designed for ultimate comfort. And now it’s been given a special design to honour one of the greatest goalkeepers in recent years, Manuel Neuer.

Manuel Neuer is rightly hailed as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation, revolutionising the position and what is demanded of it, beginning a new wave of keepers that now includes the likes of Alisson and Ederson. Having won virtually every team award available to him, Neuer’s pinnacle came in the 2014 World Cup, where he was awarded the Golden Glove as Germany went on to lift the trophy. And adidas rightly honour their key stopper with his own specific colourway for the impressive Predator Pro glove.

The same Demonskin rubber spikes that appear on the boots also appear across the backhand of the Predator Pro, almost giving off the impression of blood smeared over the knuckles. It continues the aggressive aesthetic of the boots and like them, the spikes serve more of a purpose than just looking badass, offering control to punched clearances. The white base with a black gradient graphic references German kits from the past, with Neuer having made the keeper’s shirt for the national side his own for over a decade.
