Ahead of their meeting at the Etihad this weekend, PUMA have provided Ederson and Jordan Pickford with special golden gloves, celebrating the fact that they were the Golden Glove winners in last season's Premier League and EURO 2021 respectively.
Jordan Pickford and Ederson both had great achievements last year, Pickford picking up the Golden Glove award for conceding the fewest goals while representing England at EURO 2021 and Ederson for doing the same in the Premier League for Manchester City. It also happens that both Pickford and Ederson have made the switch from the Swoosh to PUMA, with the Man City keeper signing earlier this year, following Pickford making the move back in January 2020.
And with the stars all aligning and with the two set to go head to head this weekend, PUMA have provided the two stoppers with special gold versions of their gloves – somewhat poetically it’s the Future Z Grip 1 for Ederson and the Ultra Grip 1 for Pickford, ensuring that they remain on opposing sides, even in this celebration.
It remains to be seen whether either have got the cojones to actually wear the gloves in the game on Sunday (we’re hoping they both do and that it’s a 3-3 draw), but the gloves are also being released in extremely limited numbers, with just 20 pairs of each being made available. So if you fancy yourself in a pair of golden gloves, best be as quick as Ederson and Pickford’s reaction times.
