Arsenal players Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and club captain Mikel Arteta have kicked off this seasons #RainbowLaces campaign with a hilarious TV ad title ‘The Changing Room’.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural campaign in which hundred of pro players including Leighton Baines, Olivier Giroud and Joey Barton laced up in rainbow laces to raise awareness of the issue around homophobia in football, Paddy Power, Stonewall and the Gay Football Supporters’ Network have again teamed up to help tackle one of the toughest challenges in sport.

In a bid to help tackle the issue, rainbow coloured boot laces have been dispatched to every single professional player in the UK, including youth and women’s teams. Fans and grass-root players will be asked to tweet their support using the official hashtag: #rainbowlaces. So far pictures have been released of boots including the PUMA King Top di and a hella tasty black-out evoSPEED both featuring rainbow laces.

Arsenal Captain, Mikel Arteta said: “We’re very happy to support the campaign and whilst the advert is a light-hearted look at the things we can’t change, discrimination in football cannot be tolerated and we need to work together to change this.”

Expect to see Premier League players lace up in their rainbow laces over the weekend of 13th/14th September. Let us know what you think of the campaign below.
