Next round, next colourway. Roberto Firmino returned from injury last night wearing the unreleased adidas Stellar Pack ACE 16+ Purecontrol boots as Liverpool progressed to the fourth round of the League Cup at the expense of Derby County.

Jumping the gun as Liverpool won, Firmino took the adidas launch plan into his own hands to become the first player to play a competitive match wearing the next official on-pitch adidas colourway. Gliding into the laceless white and gold design, the Brazilian forward left his 'Speed of Light' boots in the away changing room in favour of the adidas 'Stellar Pack' design, which is set for an official reveal towards the end of this week.

Some description

Firmino isn't the first South American wearing the boots this week, with Luis Suarez also making his way into the upcoming X 16.1 edition in training. The plan for the adidas Stellar Pack is a Champions League mission, with adidas set to kit out their contracted players in the collection as European football returns next week. Suppose that leaves Firmino out, and explains why he was eager to get involved early. Fair enough.

Stay tuned for a first look at the adidas Stellar Pack later this week.
