Time to raise a glass. A remake of such magnitude deserves a toast, a toast to nostalgia, a toast to free kicks that defy the laws of physics. After ripping 2016 a new one, adidas Football are set to tear up 2017 with the remake of a boot of a generation. After James Rodríguez was spotted training in the unreleased 2017 adidas Predator Mania Champagne, it's safe to say, it's very much on.

Following on from the success of the Predator Mania Instinct LE, which dropped as part of the adidas 'Revenge Pack' in 2014 to celebrate the Predator's 20th anniversary, adidas are back at it with one of the most popular colourways of all time. Inspired by the iconic Predator model of 2002, the remake worn by James Rodríguez this week confirms that adidas are set to inject another dosage of throwback therapy next year. A move that will no doubt play on the heart strings of a generation and will come with one of the most desirable Limited Edition tags of 2017.

That unmistakable Champagne upper with red fold-over-elasticated tongue and black detailing creates arguably the best looking Predator combination in the history of the series and is nailed on to have players scrambling all over the place to secure a pair. A Sprintframe soleplate helps bring the Predator Mania remake into a modern space, whilst a synthetic leather upper replaces the kangaroo leather of 2002 to keep weight to a minimum.

Although Real Madrid's James has managed to snag an early pair, we aren't expecting the Predator Mania Champagne to be released anytime soon by adidas, most likely towards the end of the current season.

The Predator Mania, is known globally as the 'People's Predator' and was most notably worn by adidas players at the 2002 World Cup in Japan/South Korea. David Beckham headlined the Champagne colourway as he famously converted a penalty to beat Argentina 1-0 in the Group Stage. The days when England would reach the quarters, have a scrap, get someone sent off and admirably exit on on penalties. The glory days. Not get dumped out by a small volcanic island in the last 16.
