The Manchester City midfielder has provided a glimpse of one of the key adidas 2016 products in which promises to be another exciting year of change for the brand as they take their revolution to the next stage.

David Silva has returned from injury in recent weeks wearing a blacked-out edition of the next-generation adidas ACE 16+ Primeknit boot. Set for release in early 2016 the second installment of the ACE sees the introduction of a collared design that extends considerably further up the ankle than the current X 15.1 but made with the same Techfit material. Unlike the laceless design worn by Paul Pogba in recent weeks, Silva's ACE 16+ Primeknit boot incorporates laces that sit on top of a tongue that's connected directly to the collar.

After introducing Primeknit and Techfit in a dramatic overhaul year for the brand, adidas look to be installing their new technologies as key components of their boot line-up heading into the new year. The trademark Three Stripes are widened and extended to meet the laces to complete the change in visuals on the upper. Things look to be coming together nicely - after the X and ACE took the brunt of any doubts players initially had, they also built the foundations for the next wave of new-generation adidas football boots.
