Landing a few months earlier than the second-generation X boot was the ACE 16.1. Arriving in Primeknit and synthetic options, the new-look ACE has been hooked up with a number of colourways since the launch, and the latest edition comes wrapped in a 'Speed of Light' suit.
Mirroring the vibrant "Solar Yellow" take-over on the ACE 16+ PURECONTROL boot, adidas have shone their 'Speed of Light' torch into the second row to put the ACE 16.1 collection in the spotlight. Oh, and it's got laces, if you're still into that sort of thing. Are they still fashionable? 
Tech-wise, it's the same story with updated innovations on the synthetic, including a unique three-layer engineered CTRL/WEB upper.
