Denis Dekovic, Nike Football Design Director and the man responsible for the Magista and Mercurial Superfly IV, has agreed to join adidas from 2015.

There’s no doubt about it, adidas are on a march. In a move that will send shockwaves through the industry, Denis Dekovic, Nike Football Design Director and the man responsible for the Magista Obra and Mercurial Superfly IV, has agreed to join adidas from 2015. Dekovic will be joined by two other influential Nike figures; Mark Miner, Senior Footwear Designer, and Marc Dolce, NSW Design Director. All three will move from their Portland base at Nike HQ to the East Coast where they'll reside at adidas’ new Brooklyn Creative Studio.

Dekovic took to his Instagram to confirm the news, announcing that this year will be his last with the Swoosh after joining the company back in 2005. Along with the Magista & the Superfly IV, Dekovic was also the man behind the Green Speed, Mercurial Vapor IX and HyperVenom. The move is another indication that 2015 will be adidas’ most significant year yet, with images already surfacing of potential new boot silo’s on the feet of Xabi Alonso and Thomas Muller.
