Detailed Design Sketches of the Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Show How the Flyknit Boots Are Tuned For Advanced Fit, Touch & Traction.
The launch of the Nike Mercurial Superfly IV has been met with a momentous reaction. The boots are the result of four years of research and development that's culminated in one of Nike's most advanced footwear products to date. The Superfly IV delivers the latest in fit, touch and traction - three areas detailed in sketch sheets released from the workstation of Nike Football Design Director Denis Dekovic.
Speaking from what has to be one of the world's coolest office spaces, Denis recals the impact of the Mercurial series on the football industry. "Mercurial is a legendary product that has some legendary names connected to it. One of them the original Ronaldo, the Brazilian, and the other one is Cristiano Ronaldo. He's been wearing Mercurials since he was 12. The legend started in '98 with Ronaldo and Nike, that partnership changed the football industry forever. We knew we wanted to use this opportunity to revolutionise football again, just like we did in '98."
