Stretching the club’s appeal not only over the pond but across other sports, Borussia Dortmund have dropped the three-piece U.S. Sports Collection, which features a football jersey, ice hockey jersey and baseball jersey.
Borussia Dortmund aren’t opposed to taking their brand in unusual directions – just look at their collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants late last year for evidence – and now they take their appeal across borders with the U.S. Sports Collection. The three-piece capsule sees BVB stylings spread across a (American) football jersey, an ice hockey jersey and a baseball jersey.
The collection has been produced in-house by Dortmund, and it sees the “09” of the club’s official name in place across all three, alongside the stylised “Dortmund” wording. The Football Jersey features yellow as its dominant colour, while the baseball and ice hockey jerseys see a grey base joined by the hits of the iconic black and yellow.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen European football crossover into American sports, with Nike producing NFL-style jerseys for the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Barcelona and PSG in the past. But this is the first time a club has offered up a lifestyle collection that takes in three of the core American sports in one go. Just missing and NBA jersey…
