Sobakov goes suede for 2019 as adidas drop a new look for the Predator-inspired sneaker. Following a strong debut in 2018, this year’s first release moves away from the traditional knit uppers that we’re used to to take up a more classic look.

The Sobakov has become a firm favourite among football fans and the streetwear world alike since its release in July of last year, crossing that line between pitch and pavement so seamlessly and epitomising football fashion. The new look for the Sobakov serves to enhance that link, with the “Grey Terrace” conjuring images of its namesake and the shaking stands of sold out stadiums.

The shift to suede is also a move that’s bound to please purists; the look harking back to some of the classics of the Originals back catalogue. The Three Stripes branding that’s reminiscent of the beloved Predator Precision reflects on the thinner section, making the tips stand out even more under certain light; it’s an especially nice touch. Lighter leather panels on the heel and tongue complete a tri-tonal effect, all, of course, on top of that ever-impressive and distinctive chevron gum outsole. Sobakov with a flavour of Gazelle? Sold.
