Continuing to dabble in the world of football, albeit in a slightly more tenuous way, Pharrell Williams and adidas launch a fresh take on the Predator-inspired Sobakov 2.0, wrapping it in a triple black suit of stealth.

The adidas Sobakov has been off the radar for a little while now following a strong debut in 2018 and follow up in 2019, but now the sneaker is back thanks to its inclusion in Pharrell’s latest collaborative drop with the Three Stripes, which has seen the hip hop superstar spreading darkness across a full footwear and apparel collection. But our interest is fixed firmly in the iconic 90's football culture that’s intrinsically linked to the Sobakov, with those Accelerator-inspired stripes still present and playing a prominent role on the imposing aesthetics.

This is obviously not Pharrell’s first dalliance within the world of football in recent months, coming hot on the heels of the recent Human Race x adidas collaboration. And like the Sobakov, the Predator from that collection also paid homage to the iconic design of the late 90s Accelerator; a design so good that it ranked as our favourite Predator of the last 12 months.

For the Sobakov, Pharrell opts for a knit upper construction riding in on that familiar chunky boost unit in the heel that was the mark of the 2.0 model. Can’t really go too far wrong with triple black, can you?
