Delivering on the promise of some huge collaborative crossovers, Nike has launched the LFC x LeBron 9 Low trainer, which arrive with vibrant club colours and striking visuals. Signed, stamped, and approved, the shoes feature both LeBron James' insignia and an LFC liverbird on the heel and outsole.

Not ones to dredge up the past, but when Liverpool were looking to make the switch from New Balance to Nike, the promise of some serious star power was one of the factors sighted in support of the Swoosh. Well now, with the third year of partnership well underway, Nike deliver on that promise with the LFC x LeBron 9 Low trainer, a collaborative creation that sees the world’s of football and basketball crossing paths once more.

OK, so this isn’t on the same level as PSG x Jordan, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. LeBron James is a well-known Liverpool fan and minor stake-holder in the club, so it comes as no surprise that he is the man to take the Premier League club court side. A new collection from the two sporting giants was rumoured back in November of last year, so we’ll have to wait and see if this is just the first part of a wider range.

As for the sneaker itself, it’s constructed from a rich mixture of materials, including engineered mesh, to add structure, breathability and off-court style. It features LeBron's insignia on the heel and John Hancock's on the tongue, while the Liverpool crest appears on both heels and through the outsole, where King James’ logo is also present.
