Real Madrid winger to sign new six year contract extension with adidas

Gareth Bale is set to agree a new six-year contract extension with adidas worth a reported £20 million. The Real Madrid man has been with adidas since he was a 16 year-old youngster at Southampton and is now close to extending his relationship with the brand, earning a pretty big pay day whilst he's at it.

It's understood that adidas had been contemplating offering the winger a new deal during his time at White Hart Lane but were concerned at the fact that Spurs were not in the Champions League and what effect this would have on making him one of their marquee players.

With Bale now at Madrid and more importantly, performing well at the Bernabeu in both La Liga and the Champions League adidas are confident the investment is worthy, even if he won't be present at the World Cup this summer.

Bale has been working closely with adidas as they continue to lean on him as a lead asset. He was recently given on pitch exclusivity with the adizero F50 Crazylight and is seen as the perfect in house brand rival to Real Madrid team mate and leading Nike player Cristiano Ronaldo.

£20 million eh? That's 125,000 pairs of F50's at £160 a pop or just over half an Andy Carroll. Crazy.
