Gareth Bale will wear a personalised version of the adidas X 18.1 boot against Republic of Ireland in Cardiff tonight as adidas celebrate the Real Madrid man becoming Wales' all time leading goalscorer.
Bale's "Team Mode" adidas X 18.1 boots have been customised with the Welsh Dragon on the instep of the boots, as well as the world 'GWLAD' (Welsh for 'country') on the outstep along with #29 – the number of goals he's now scored for Wales, a number that saw him overtake Ian Rush as his nation's all time record goalscorer.
The boots also feature the name of Bale's baby son – SPEEDMESH – who was born in May this year...
The fixture against Republic of Ireland tonight will be the first game on home soil for Bale since he achieved his new status with a hat-trick in Wales' 6-0 rout over China back in March. He ain't done yet. Expect him to set a pretty healthy benchmark for the future of Welsh football to chase.
