David Beckham has confirmed that his MLS team will be named Club International de Futbol Miami. The announcement also saw the reveal of the club crest as the club finally have an official identity ahead of their MLS debut in 2020.

The name may come as a slight surprise to fans that have followed the progress of the Miami club, especially considering Beckham once played for Inter Milan's rivals AC Milan. In the larger picture it's a name that they can own in America and one they have already shortened to Inter Miami.

The club's new crest features the name, two Herons and the Roman numerals for the year 2020, when the club is scheduled to make its MLS debut. It's strong badge with a colour scheme that will no doubt produce some tasty looking club branding and home kits when the time comes.

Beckham purchased an expansion team for £20million when he joined the league in 2007, and pursued the project more intensely when his playing career ended in 2013. Numerous expansion targets were discussed before Miami became the first choice. In January 2018, Beckham was officially awarded the twenty-fifth MLS franchise, with Inter Miami set to launch in the 2020 season.
