Taking huge strides towards making their dreams a reality, Inter Miami CF have released a video showing renderings of their proposed new stadium at Miami Freedom Park, which, if plans go ahead, could be the club’s new home from 2022.

The MLS expansion club, set to begin play in 2020, released the video outlining what the stadium and its surrounding area could potentially look like, and it’s quite the sight. There’s a strong pink vibe throughout – a colour synonymous with the city. It’s most apparent in the wave roof design that the video suggests takes influence from the wings of the herons that appear on the club crest. The roof appears like it will shield most fans from the elements while leaving the pitch open.

Overall, it’s an impressive design, and it doesn’t just stop at the stadium itself. The grounds at the Lockhart site will also include a training facility for the first team and academy, as well as public park space, all of which can be glimpsed in the renderings. The site will also become the future home for Inter Miami’s USL-affiliate squad.

Until this particular dream becomes a reality, Inter Miami is expected to play on grounds currently occupied by Lockhart Stadium and Fort Lauderdale Stadium, an adjacent baseball venue. Last week, the club had plans approved by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission to demolish the pre-existing structures at the site.

Hoping all the images of Beckham around the stadium represent big screens and that they're not just permanent pictures of him. Could ruin the aesthetics a bit...
