Simple blue and white design offers a sophisticated new look.

Portugal have unveiled their new Nike away strip to be worn during this years World Cup in Brazil. The stylish white and blue away kit delivers a sophisticated new look for Ronaldo and his men combining a simple design with the best in Nike's performance innovation. 

Unveiled by Cristiano Ronaldo, Miguel Veloso, Pepe and Raul Meireles, the jersey boasts a unique two-level stand collar and blue cuffs. On either side of the Portuguese Football Federation’s crest are the years 1914 and 2014 commemorating the team's centenary. 

“We wanted to give Portugal a classic and sophisticated look for their new away kit, which captures the flamboyance and brilliance of the football that saw them qualify for Brasil,” said Martin Lotti, Global Creative Director, Nike Football.

Inside the back of the neck is a white pennant tab featuring the Order of Christ, an evocative Portuguese cross that pays homage to the nation's rich seafaring history. The cross radiated from the sails of the ships helmed by great Portuguese explorers during the 15th century.

The names and numbers on the back of the jersey are inspired by old typefaces used on traditional Portuguese signs, producing a font that is both contemporary and Art Deco. The blue away shorts have a slimmer fit tailored to the body specifically designed to aid movement and comfort andt he new away socks are white. 

"The new away kit is very impressive, the white color is very stylish and I can't wait to wear it," says national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo. "It's the ultimate honor to represent your country as a footballer and wear your national team kit with pride. I am sure this kit will give the whole team confidence to perform for our nation."
