We continue our look back at our favourite World Cup kits by visiting Argentina. We've picked out of top 5 famous blue and white striped shirts as the two time World Cup winners travel to Brazil as one of the tournaments big boys.

5 | Germany 2006

We're kicking things off with the adidas 2006 strip worn in Germany. Captained by Juan Pablo Sorin Argentina were eliminated on penalties at the Quarter Final stage by Germany. As for the kit the blue and white stripes were interrupted by a gold line running across the top of the chest and the numbers sat opposite the crest for a tidy symmetrical feel.

4 | South Korea/Japan 2002

When you mention Argentina at the 2002 World Cup to an Englishman they'll immediately drift into lucid daydreams of David Beckham wheeling away after slotting home England's winning penalty. A fine day indeed. We were big fans of the typeface of the adidas 2002 shirts and placed on those trademark stripes made it one of the most recognisable kits in the world.

3 | France 1998

Into the 90's and things start to get more interesting. The 1998 shirt featured a tad more black than your standard Argentina shirt, the dark collar with three stripes and embroided logo sat on top of a crisp blue and white jersey with a fantastically retro typeface, just look at the 3D effect on that number 9. Glorious.

2 | USA 1994

That single buttoned white collar and old school adidas text logo ensure the USA 1994 World Cup shirt takes the silver for us. All white sleeves, minimalistic crest and big fat bold numbers, the only thing holding it back from taking the gold is the typical 90's oversized fit. Right, that's another Gabriel Batistuta for one article.

1 | Mexico 1986

Credit to Le Coq Sportif, they made some decent threads in the 80's including these simplistic piece of kit. Big logo, big badge, blue and white stripes, what more do you want? Oh Maradona, what a brilliantly, dirty, horrible, majestic, exquisite, cheating, outrageously talented footballer you were.
