PUMA complete their debut Manchester City replica line-up by launching the club's 2019/20 third shirt. You would have forgiven the brand for making a subtle and safe start to life in the blue half of Manchester, but the third shirt is anything but subtle. It's arguably the boldest design on the Premier League scene and you still can't work out if you love it or hate it, and that's why it's superb.

Launched at a special event in Shanghai, ahead of the team's arrival for their four-match pre-season tour of Asia, the new jersey was showcased with its gradient design of yellow and peach. The vibrant and disruptive design isn't inspired by Pep's love of the Manchester cocktail scene, nor is it a tribute to David Silva's appreciation of mixed Slush Puppies at his local ODEON. PUMA tell us that the bold colour scheme reflects Manchester City's attractive and dynamic attacking playing style, and that makes more sense actually.

City will stop off in Nainjing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Yokohama for games against West Ham, Kitchee and Yokohama FM along the way and it's in these fixtures where they'll wear their new third kit, as well as the new 19/20 home & away kits for the first times.

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola said, “Football is a source of inspiration and enjoyment to millions around the world. On the pitch, our aim is to play attacking and entertaining football and I’m delighted that the PUMA design team has used this as inspiration for our new Third kit. I  look forward to seeing it on-pitch this season.” If it's good enough for Pep, then that'll do for us. Now excuse us, we're off for an ice-lolly.
