Arriving with a traditional feel, adidas launch the Sao Paulo away shirt for the 2020/21 season. The look doesn’t stray far from the last few seasons, with some minor tweaks differentiating it, helping the club celebrate its 90th anniversary.

The third away kit of adidas's tenure sees the now familiar and classical red, black and white colours utilised once more in that vertical tri-stripe design. It's not a massive departure from last season's look, keeping things classic, although the shirt puts its own spin on the timeless look with the help of an original sublimated design that runs through the red and black stripes. The Three Stripes have been switched to the sides and they feature a slivery hue to celebrate the 90th birthday of the club, in a similar approach that was seen on this season's home shirt.

Somewhat controversially, the vertical stripes of the shirt’s design do not feature all over, instead leaving the back in a solid block red colouring. Former members of the club’s hierarchy have criticised this move, noting its move away from tradition, but for our money it doesn’t greatly effect the aesthetic of the shirt, especially when name and number are in place.
