Tweaking an already familiar look, Adidas launch the Universidad de Chile 2021 home shirt. The design sticks with the dark navy base of last season, but introduces white trim on the Three Stripes and on the sleeve cuffs.

As one of the most successful clubs in Chile, a lot of eyes fall upon Universidad de Chile. So adidas have to create a kit that at once appeases fans but that also freshens the team style ahead of a new campaign, and to accomplish this for the 2021 season it meant subtle changes to what has already proved to be a popular look. Simple, yet effective.

The base of the Universidad de Chile shirt retains the same navy colouring from last season, but it introduces a few changes to keep the design feeling fresh. That starts with a new sublimated pattern of diagonal stripes of differing thickness that run through the whole shirt, shooting off in opposite directions and intersecting one another. Then comes the introduction of white through sleeve cuffs and on the Three Stripes that retain their position on the shoulders.

For one final point of difference, the order of the club crests and branding on the chest has switched, with the Adidas logo now appearing on the right side of the chest. Yeah, we’re not convinced by that change either, but the rest hits the spot nicely.

The shirt is set to debut on Sunday, 20 December, at the National Stadium in the match against Huachipato.
