Corinthians bring down the curtain on 2020 by releasing their first ever fourth kit for the current season, drawing inspiration from the state map of São Paulo and the city’s famous black and white sidewalks.

São Paulo is the largest city in South America, a tourist destination and the financial heart of Brazil. With traffic, concrete and skyscrapers, the hustle and bustle is typical of such an urban environment, but here it is crazy, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many believe it to be a city for the insane… and that’s why it fits the Corinthians so well. And that feeling has been carried forward into the design of the club’s new fourth shirt for 2021.

With the city in mind, Nike designers were inspired to present the unprecedented Corinthians fourth shirt, which brings the classic pattern of the map of the state of São Paulo in black and white throughout the length of the piece, achieved though the use of graphics installed in hundreds of sidewalks scattered throughout the city of São Paulo.

Together with Corinthians, in the 2008 and 2009 seasons we set a trend by introducing the culture of the third shirt in purple, in reference to fanaticism of the fan,” explained Gustavo Viana, Marketing Director of Fisia (official Nike distributor in Brazil). “In 2012, the watermark of the state of São Paulo was printed on the shirt on the two biggest titles in the club's history: Libertadores and Mundial. And now, when introducing the fourth shirt in reference to such an iconic symbol, we show the value of the connection of the biggest crowd in the state with their home."

Sustainability is a central part of all uniforms created by Nike. This year, they are once again manufactured with 100% polyester made from plastic bottle fibre, pre-consumer textile scraps and post-consumer garments, created to guarantee unparalleled performance benefits and with low environmental impact.
