Getting set for their second season of MLS action, Inter Miami have launched their new secondary jersey for the 2021 campaign, named ‘La Palma’.

Second seasons can often be difficult to negotiate. Still trying to find identity and a style of play, and this season for Inter Miami, all of that will be with a new manager in Phil Neville. Where the former Lionesses manager may not be instantly associated with style, but that’s a tag that’s been attached to the MLS side, thanks in part to one of their owners, one David Beckham. And their new secondary jersey, dubbed ‘La Palma’, more than lives up to those expectations.

The name of the shirt comes from that embossed pattern on the black base, subtle, sleek, but absolutely fitting the bill of capturing the club’s identity and adding a unique flourish to the shirt. The palm tree exists as a symbol of unity and honour in the region. That black base  is joined by pink detailing that pops through the club crest and branding, while the nape of the neck says “Freedom To Dream”, which is a phrased coined jointly by owners David Beckham and Jorge Mas as a testament to the spirit of south florida’s people. The jock tag is the heron element from the club crest, while the inner lining along the neck and bottom hem are “Biscayne Blue”, taken from the bay Miami sits on for a nice final flourish.
