Last season's defeated MLS Cup finalists, Portland Timbers get a proper bespoke look from adidas for what is their Heritage Rose secondary jersey, which is set to be used in the 2022 season.

Taking things in a very different direction for the club, adidas present what is Portland Timbers’ first of the club’s 15 MLS jerseys to sit outside their traditional colour palette, while it is also the first to come in pink. It’s highlighted by a rose floral pattern across the front, and the base is rooted in “Vapour Pink,” with accents in “Victory Crimson” across the collar, shoulder and sleeve cuffs. The design is a vibrant, rose themed kit – an ode to The Rose City. A really unique look, but one that we're fully into.

As part of the design, the jersey features two custom embellishments. The neck tape, located on the inside neck of the collar, prominently features the phrase “Rose City ‘Til I Die.” Also known as RCTID, Rose City ‘Til I Die symbolises the deep and powerful connection between club and community, an attitude highlighted by the Rose City’s collective passion for the club.

The jocktag, located on the bottom-right of the jersey is a custom art composition inspired by “RCTID,” manifested creatively in this union of art and ethos. The imagery features a skull and a rose, a Latin translation of Rose City ‘Til I Die, and the King of Clubs playing card – a nod to the famous tifo by the Timbers Army.

In collaboration with our partners at Adidas, we are excited to push the boundaries of our traditional design aesthetic and expand the club’s brand iconography and color family,” said Mike Golub, president of business for the Timbers. “We think this is one of our most unique and distinct kits in history of the club and are excited to share it with our supporters.”

When we started developing the Heritage Rose with the Timbers, our combined objective was to pay homage to the Rose City by developing a bold & unique pattern, introduce a new and vibrant color palette, and stay authentic to the city & Timbers fans,” said Skate Noftsinger, director of sports marketing of Adidas soccer. “Our design process led us to a jersey that both fans & players will wear proudly for Rose City.
