Nike's beautifully disruptive approach to the South Korea 2020 collection takes another sublime turn as the Swoosh unveil a special edition Mercurial Superfly VII and Vapor XIII design which further complements the eccentric vibe of the pack.

We'll level with you right here rather than getting your hopes up and sneaking it into the last paragraph: these boots are a Nike exclusive and currently only available in South Korea. Yeah, that's annoying isn't it? But, what we've got here is an outrageous design that further extends South Korea as Nike's hype nation for 2020. Yeah, proper giving Nigeria 2018 a run for its money, this.

We've already discussed why Nike chose South Korea as their latest canvas for creativity, when the nation dropped their debut 2020 collection in March which included the new 2020 home shirt, away and pre-match shirts, as well as a special edition Air Max 95 and clothing pack, with some of the clothing pieces yet to hit shelves. While the rest of the collection will be available globally, Nike have reserved the Mercurial Superfly VII and Vapor XIII for South Korea.

The eye-catching design on the boots extends the football collection into footwear for the pitch and accompanies the resounding release of the Taeguk Warriors’ new football kits. And that's where the pattern on the boots comes from. The away kit and team shirt in particular made a bold statement on and off the pitch with a striking white tiger print on the jersey and socks. All of the stripes in the print were originally hand-painted by Nike’s design team. A sacred creature believed to be a guardian animal in Korean mythology, the white tiger symbolises courage and power. Same story with the Mercs here. Box is smart too, init.
