Taking huge strides in the quest for sustainability, PUMA have unveiled the King Platinum ‘Vegan’, recreating the classic boot from 100 percent vegan materials and starting a new chapter in the iconic silo’s storied history.

The impact that we all have on the world is something that has to be addressed right now, and PUMA is bringing football’s part on the environment into focus by unveiling its first ever fully vegan boot. The King Platinum ‘Vegan’ has been made from 100 percent vegan materials, with the aim to sacrifice nothing in a performance sense, while also showing that the traditional methods and materials for boot construction are not the only way.

The King Platinum ‘Vegan’ follows the Paul Pogba x adidas Predator by Stella McCartney, which dropped at the end of last year as the Three Stripes’ first 100 percent vegan boot. Now it’s PUMA’s turn. For the King, there’s a fully vegan leather upper, with 100 percent vegan knitted yarns on the tongue, while the PEBA outsole has also been constructed without animal-based lubricants. A clean white look for the upper is joined by the green soleplate (couldn’t be any other colour, could it?) S what we’ve got here is a high-performance boot with sustainability at its heart. Yep, more of this please.
