It’s already been teased, but now adidas properly launch the all-new COPA Pure. But they don’t just release one colour way; no, that would be so 2022. Instead, the Three Stripes go all in with three colour ways of the next generation boot.

The Copa line is a very special one that dates all the way back to the late 1970s. The original Copa Mundial was such footballing perfection that it remains a fixture in the grassroots game to this day, untouched and still just as iconic. But it has also spawned several evolutionary offshoots, including the Copa Gloro and the recently released Copa Icon, though chief among them is the performance-driven COPA series, produced to meet the demands of today’s professional game. And following on from the COPA Sense, we now get the latest entry in the line with the COPA Pure.

The DNA of the Copa has always been about touch and feel on the ball along with ultimate comfort and control, and this has been reflected in the secondary names given to the last iteration and this: Sense and Pure. This has always been achieved through a premium leather construction, and the COPA Pure follows suit, although it subs out K-leather for a quilted, Fusionskin cow leather forefoot, which is seamlessly blended to an adidas PRIMEKNIT collar for a cushioned touch and rock-solid stability.

The COPA Pure comes in at 48g lighter than the COPA Sense, meaning if you value touch, you no longer have to sacrifice a lightweight feel.

Following on from the Teaser edition, the Pure comes in three colourways. First up is a “Core Black/Zero Met./Team Shock Pink”, which, if recent Boot Spotting is an indicator, will likely be part of a wider pack release. That’s backed up by the clean, monochromatic blackout and whiteout options, which really show of the silky smooth texture of that new upper.
