Lining up alongside the likes of the 990v4, 990v6, 996, 998, 550, 580 and 9060, New Balance have unveiled a new look for the Furon v7 for this year's “Grey Day” – the brand’s self-made holiday that celebrates their iconic neutral colour palette.

New Balance is renowned for its heritage in the sneaker world, and in particular for its timeless grey colourways. As we approach “Grey Day” – a made-up holiday to celebrate New Balance’s iconic neutral colour palette, taking place on 12 May, the hype is building among fans for what sneakers could be released. The brand is celebrating the annual event with an impressive lineup of silhouettes, including a selection from its Made In USA collection and other popular models, but it appears that the brand aren’t just sticking with sneakers for this year’s drop, with the reveal of a new look for the Furon v7, which adopts the famous look.

The sneakers generally come with white mesh bases and suede overlays, and here the Furon imitates the look through the use of its own overlays on the Hypoknit upper (though not suede, of course). The Furon’s signature flying NB wrap-around logo appears as usual on the forefoot, but it’s joined by a regular "N" logo on the lateral side of each boot, and “New Balance” wording on the heel. False stitching details appear throughout the upper to further replicate the sneaker aesthetics.

It's a unique look that ties the world of sneaker culture and football culture together. Whether any New Balance athletes wear this new look on-pitch remains to be seen, but we're hoping at least one of the roster laces them up in the coming weeks.
