Lining up for this year's ‘Grey Day’ – the brand’s self-made holiday that celebrates their iconic neutral colour palette – New Balance have dropped the ‘Grey Days’ pack, featuring the Furon v7+, Tekela v4+ and 442 v2.

Last year, the Furon broke ground by being the first football boot to crash what has traditionally been an all-sneaker party for New Balance’s annual ‘Grey Day’ celebrations, getting suitably dressed up in the neutral colour palette. And now this year the Furon’s back at it, only it’s invited a couple of friends along, with the Tekela and 442 joining in for what is the ‘Grey Days’ pack. But it’s more than just grey for the Furon and Tekela in particular, both of which take on a ‘concrete’ graphic effect in their uppers.

While the recent switch up in branding on the Furon plus the almost uniform presentation of the ‘Grey Days’ pack renders the Furon and Tekela as almost indistinct from a visual perspective, they’re still very much separate in terms of their performance – something that’s evident from the tech under the hood.

The New Balance Furon V7 – presented here in “Concrete” grey – is the brand's lightweight speed silo, built for speed and maximum agility. Worn by the likes of Bukayo Saka, it features a Hypoknit upper, designed to provide strategic areas of stretch, combined with that signature off-set lacing system.

Meanwhile, the Tekela – which takes on a “Graphite” grey shade – is the brand's control boot, with technology across the upper that is created to maximise touch, power and comfort. Worn by the likes of Liverpool's Harvey Elliot and Brazil's Endrick, the Tekela boasts a full-foot, stretch-knit upper that adapts to the shape of the foot.

Finally, as well as the Furon and Tekela, there's also the option of the 442 – New Balance's grassroots specialist. It takes on a cleaner white look, with “Concrete” grey accents featuring in the collar, tongue, laces and branding.
