While the necessity for a hi-viz ball may not quite be the same in sunny Spain as it is in the UK, PUMA still get on board with the obligatory winter design for the La Liga ball, with a bright pink, yellow and teal paint job giving the 2019/20 variation a unique and bespoke look.

Following up the first effort in its new partnership with La Liga, PUMA release the 2019/20 winter ball, which takes an eye-catching colour combination and applies it to the existing match ball design. It provides La Liga with their own, unique, globally recognisable and completely exclusive match ball design, and that’s one of the main reasons that the Spanish setup wanted to switch from the Swoosh to PUMA in the first place.

Some dodgy photoshop efforts aside, what we have here is a visually striking design – job done when it comes to a winter look. The ball itself is exactly the same as the standard La Liga ball that has been in use so far this season, so it’s still an 18 panel heat-sealed structure that’s based on the brand’s Final 1 Statement ball, designed to be a perfect sphere that guarantees better stability, a soft touch and reduced water absorption. A 1mm Hi-Solid Dimple PU (San Fang) casing improves the aerodynamics and also provides high resistance to the graze and wear and tear, which creates better durability and high performance level.
