You’ve heard the saying "fashionably late to the party", right? Well, that’s Red Star FC all over. With the Ligue 2 season already two games old, the French style kings and perennial trailblazers have finally unveiled their new home shirt for the 2026/27 campaign, and it’s fair to say it was worth the wait.
Red Star FC are one of football’s true originals. As the second-oldest club in France, you could forgive them for being weighed down by tradition. But that’s never really been their style. If anything, they thrive on doing things differently. They carve their own path, push creative boundaries and consistently challenge convention, both on and off the pitch. Long before football and fashion became inseparable, Red Star were already showing everyone how it should be done.
Part of what makes the club so distinctive is its instantly recognisable home look. But maintaining a strong identity while keeping things fresh season after season is easier said than done. It’s an area where Red Star, alongside technical partner Kappa, continues to excel, often setting the benchmark for the rest of the game.
Following the launch of the Green & Black jersey, first worn during Red Star's victory over FC Nantes at the start of the new campaign, the club and Kappa have now unveiled the latest chapter in the collection: Le Rayé.
The new release continues the artistic direction that has become synonymous with Red Star's recent kit launches. Last season saw the club collaborate with artist Tom Ducarouge, and that creative approach evolves once again through a new partnership with Parisian street artist Lorem. Accompanied by the launch film 'Under The Lines', the project reinforces Red Star's ambition to make its shirts more than just kits, transforming them into storytelling pieces that capture the spirit of the club and its community.
Building on the concrete-inspired visual language first imagined by Ducarouge, Lorem reinterprets the aesthetic through his own distinctive universe. The result is a shirt that weaves together the club's symbols, landmarks and identity through the artist's signature doodle-inspired style.
The home shirt reimagines Red Star's iconic green-and-white stripes, pairing them with a classic polo collar and a layout centred around a prominent middle stripe framed by two side panels. Across the design, Lorem's spontaneous, free-flowing illustrations are subtly integrated into the fabric, bringing an added layer of personality to the jersey.
Using embossing technology, these details emerge directly from the material itself, creating a unique visual and tactile effect. Borrowing the same graphic language introduced on the Green & Black jersey, the design is packed with references to the club's history and culture. Hidden within the pattern are nods to Red Star's founding year, Marville, Stade Bauer and, of course, the supporters who continue to shape the club's identity.
As has become customary with Red Star and Kappa, their kits become a thoughtful piece of design that balances heritage with innovation, proving once again that when it comes to football kits, few clubs do it better.
The new Red Star FC home shirt is available for preorder now on the club's online store.
