Bayern Munich Go Loud With Vibrant New 26/27 Oktoberfest Shirt

Every year, Bayern Munich's Oktoberfest shirt is one of the most anticipated special-edition releases in football, blending Bavarian tradition with contemporary design. For 26/27, adidas has thrown out the rulebook, delivering perhaps the boldest Wiesn kit the club has ever worn.

Officially unveiled ahead of Oktoberfest celebrations, the new Bayern Munich Oktoberfest jersey takes its inspiration from the energy, colour and atmosphere of Munich's famous festival. Rather than leaning heavily on classic folk motifs, adidas has opted for a vibrant abstract approach that immediately catches the eye.

At the heart of the design is a chaotic yet beautifully balanced all-over graphic that covers the entire shirt. Set against a black base, the multi-coloured pattern resembles a painterly collage, blending a variety of bright tones into a floral-inspired composition that feels alive with movement. It's a modern interpretation of traditional floral artwork, one that reflects the diversity, community spirit and zest for life that make the Wiesn such a globally recognised celebration.

In amongst the hustle of the body, the collar and sleeve cuffs arrive in solid black, while adidas' iconic three stripes sit on the shoulders in an understated off-white. The Trefoil logo and Bayern München crest also appear in white, creating a sharp contrast against the colourful backdrop. Let's face it, it's about the only way you were going to be able to see any branding.

As with previous Oktoberfest collections, the jersey features a bespoke FC Bayern Wiesn emblem, reinforcing the connection between club and city. An official Oktoberfest logo placed on the back of the neck further underlines the shirt's role as a celebration of Munich's most famous cultural event.

Bayern will wear the kit for the first time when they host Union Berlin on 18 September, giving fans their first chance to see the shirt in action under the lights of the Allianz Arena.

From a Creative Soccer Culture perspective, this is exactly the kind of release we'd like to see more often. Special-edition football shirts should feel special, and this one certainly doesn't play it safe. The vibrancy of the design is its greatest strength. While previous Oktoberfest kits have often relied on earthy tones, embroidery-inspired graphics and more traditional colour palettes, this release embraces a louder, more expressive identity.

The result is a jersey that captures the spirit of Oktoberfest in a fresh and contemporary way. The riot of colours reflects the festival's energy, while the abstract execution gives it a streetwear-inspired aesthetic that feels perfectly suited to the growing crossover between football culture and fashion. It's bold, unconventional and almost artistic in its presentation.
