Denmark Continue To Rewrite the Rules With DBU, hummel & Alis’ “Echoes of Denmark” Collection

Danish football, street culture and sporting heritage come together as DBU, ALIS and hummel present “Echoes of Denmark” – a new collaboration rooted in three distinct yet closely connected parts of Danish culture.

Due largely to kit rules and regulations, International football has been a lot slower to embrace fashion collaborations and crossovers than the club game. While we’ve become accustomed to seeing clubs link up with luxury fashion houses, streetwear brands and cultural tastemakers, national teams have largely stayed within the lines. But Denmark? They’re increasingly proving to be the exception.

Together with hummel and Copenhagen streetwear institution ALIS, DBU have unveiled “Echoes of Denmark”, a new collection that brings Danish football culture, streetwear and community together in one of the most progressive international team collaborations we’ve seen to date.

And the real beauty of this collection is that it's not just limited to a cameo role prematch. Nope, it will be worn on pitch by both the Danish men’s and women’s national teams, marking another bold step in Denmark’s ongoing exploration of football’s crossover with fashion and culture.

The collection features special edition national team jerseys for both the men’s and women’s teams, accompanied by a range of pre-match apparel that sits comfortably at the intersection of performance wear, football culture and streetwear.

We’ve seen brands flirt with the concept before, most notably through special pre-match collections around major tournaments, but “Echoes of Denmark” takes things further. The collaboration extends directly onto the playing strip, bringing a genuine streetwear partnership into the heart of the matchday experience.

In many ways, it’s the latest chapter in a journey that DBU and hummel have been carefully building for several years. Following the magnificent and underapprciated women’s team collaboration with Danish fashion label ROTATE last year, Danish football once again finds itself pushing into fresh territory, this time alongside one of the country’s most influential streetwear brands. Importantly, this project spans both the men’s and women’s national teams, reinforcing the idea that football culture belongs to everyone.

At its core, “Echoes of Denmark” is built around shared values. DBU, ALIS and hummel may come from different corners of Danish culture, but each has played a role in shaping generations through sport, creativity and community. The collection explores the stories that connect people across time; stories of togetherness, adversity and unforgettable moments that continue to resonate when passed from one generation to the next.

For ALIS, the project represents a chance to bring the community-first ethos that has defined the brand since day one into a completely new arena. “We are incredibly proud to collaborate with the Danish national teams, which mean so much to so many people across Denmark. Being able to leave our mark on something of such great cultural significance is truly special to us.

"Community has always been at the heart of ALIS’ DNA, which is why it feels so natural to be part of something that brings people together across generations and backgrounds,” said Isabelle Hammerich, co-founder of ALIS.

And unlike so many collaborations that never make it beyond the tunnel walk, this one will have its moment under the stadium lights. The Danish men’s national team will debut the collection on 17 November when they face Norway in the Nations League, before the women’s side wear it on 5 December as they continue preparations for the World Cup with a fixture against Zambia.

The DBU x hummel x ALIS collection launches on 22 October and will be available at Landsholdsshoppen.dk, alis.dk and selected sports and fashion retailers across Denmark.
