On’s First Boot Is Looking Clean As Hell

On’s Director of Football, Thierry Henry, has taken to Instagram to share a first real look at the Swiss label’s debut on-pitch boot that’s set to reach the public in early 2027.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona forward has shared images of some custom On prototypes, revealing more of the construction behind the brand’s move into football.

Stamped with the development code ON-DCPT-KM210, the boots feature an exceptionally thin, translucent upper made using On’s LightSpray technology. The robotic spraying process removes traditional seams and structural overlays, giving the prototype a stripped-back appearance.

The preview follows On’s announcement that it will be moving into football, with Kylian Mbappé leading its roster and Henry appointed Director of Football. Barcelona and Switzerland midfielder Sydney Schertenleib is also involved in development, as the Swiss brand brings its performance footwear expertise into an already-competitive boot market.

While Henry’s latest image remains a prototype, it offers a clearer picture of what’s taking shape ahead of that launch. And for a brand preparing to challenge football’s established names, there will be plenty of eyes on what comes next.
