Gareth Bale offers more clues into a hurricane of innovation that's set to blow the front doors off of adidas HQ in 2015.

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has joined in on the suspected adidas shake-up after being spotted training in a familiar looking prototype, previously seen on the feet of Thomas Müller in September last year. The boots in question do little to silence suggestions of a complete adidas overhaul as far as their football footwear is concerned, suggestions that continue to gain traction as we head towards the end of the European season.

Bale’s boots reveal a closer look at adidas' new silhouette that comes with a sock-like material across the collar that seemingly merges with the upper of the boot. With both Primeknit and Techfit technologies at their disposal, the German brand certainly have enough in their locker to land a potentially game-changing innovation.

One thing we do know is that boot collared technology dominated the headlines in 2014 and now adidas look ready to go head-to-head with their old foes again. All indications point towards a dramatic shift in direction for adidas in what is set up to be a year of re-writing the rule books.

As adidas up the feedback stage on their next-level project we can expect to see more contracted players slip into the new silhouette. Bale's black-out boots look to be at the same prototype stage as another boot being tested by Spanish duo Iker Casillas and Xabi Alonso, so don't be surprised if adidas pull two rabbits out of their hat when the time is right.
