The adidas Battle Pack will be given an early on-pitch debut in the all Madrid Champions League Final this weekend. Players from the white half of the city spoke ahead of the game during the adidas Battle Pack launch at the club's Valdebebas training ground.
The last time Real Madrid won the Champions League Angel Di Maria was 14, Asier Illaramendi was 12 and Alvaro Morata was just 9 years old. This weekend the Real Madrid trio have a chance to end over a decade of hurt and return European glory to the Bernabeu when they face Atletico Madrid in Lisbon.
A Champions League final in the first season with a new manager must be more than you could have hoped for?
Angel Di María: "Yes its really nice to have new manager he has got us to the champions league final in his first year that´s great for everyone here, the atmospere in the dressing room is spectacular we are in the champions league final everyone here is very happy.¨
Is there a special feeling in the city of Madrid at the moment?
Angel Di María: "Yes this is very true the day I came here to Real Madrid I realized how important is the Champions League was to the club. It is what the fans are desperate for and now that they see we are in the final supporters are coming up to us all the time and telling us we must win it for them and Real Madrid.
What does it mean to Real Madrid to win the Champions League?
Alvaro Morata: "It's the greatest joy we can give to the Madrid supporters. It's taken many years to try and reach the final and win it. Winning this final would be the biggest achievement of the last few years. This could be the end. It might be the beginning of a new chapter and without too much pressure in winning the Champions League. The supporters might enjoy this more and the team as well."
What do you expect from the Champions League Final?
Asier Illarramendi: "Its going to be complicated match but if the whole club pulls together we have s some very good players and there is a great atmosphere in the dressing room at the moment we have a very good manager who has won a lot of titles and that will help us."
