Monday saw adidas reveal their Brazil 2014 football boots to mixed reactions. The design of the adidas 'Battle Pack' may have split opinion but once thing's for sure, they'll stand out on pitch. Now the three stripes give us a close look at the inspiration behind their crazy designs.

The first development sketches to be shown are of the 'Battle Pack' Nitrocharge 1.0, the brands newest silo. Hit with a black on white colourway that features multiple round edged triangles, the sketches reveal the boots design is inspired by armadillo shell and crocodile skin, notoriously tough creatures.

Each individual 'Battle Pack' pattern has been designed to express the attributes of each boot, as well as the attitude and abilities of the players who wear them. With the likes of Dani Alves and Javi Martinez lacing up the Nitrocharge, it's easy to see where the inspiration came from.
